Privacy policy

Protecting your personal data matters to us. This privacy policy explains what data we process when you visit and shop at safetails.com / safetails.ch. We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What we process

  • Order & contact data: name, delivery and billing address, email, phone and order details. We do not receive or store your full payment card details — these are processed directly by our payment providers (see section 5).
  • Account & marketing data: your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter, plus any reviews or messages.
  • Automatically collected data: device and browser information, IP address, pages visited and similar usage data via cookies and comparable technologies (see section 4).

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process your data to handle and ship your orders and deal with returns and support requests (performance of a contract), to send you newsletters with your consent, to improve our website and offering, and for fraud prevention and to meet legal obligations (legitimate interest or legal obligation).

4. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies that are technically necessary to operate the shop (for example to keep your cart and your session), together with the analytics cookies built into our shop platform, Shopify, which give us aggregated statistics on how the shop is used.

With your consent we also use:

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-HE2QQQD8P3) and the Google tag (GT-NMK2HJFB), provided by Google, to understand how visitors reach the shop, which pages and products they look at, and which visits lead to an order.
  • Judge.me, to show product reviews and to measure how they are used.

These load only after you accept them in the cookie banner. Until then they do not run and set no cookies of their own. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Manage preferences in the cookie banner, and the change applies immediately.

5. Sharing with third parties (processors)

We share data only as needed to run the shop, with carefully selected providers acting on our behalf:

  • Shopify – e-commerce platform and hosting
  • Payment providers – Shopify Payments and Klarna
  • Shipping providers – for delivery and customs handling
  • Email/marketing and review tools – for requested emails and reviews
  • Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) – analytics and advertising measurement, only with your consent
  • Judge.me – product reviews

We do not sell your personal data for money. Under some US state privacy laws, sharing data with advertising or analytics partners can itself count as a “sale” or as “sharing” for targeted advertising. If you live in one of those states you can opt out at any time on Your privacy choices.

6. Transfers abroad

We are based in Switzerland. Some providers process data abroad (including in the EU and the USA) — in particular Google, which processes analytics data in the USA. Where data is transferred to a country without an adequate level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses).

7. Retention

We keep order and accounting data for as long as legally required (generally up to 10 years) and marketing data until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these, contact support@safetails.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent authority — in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

9. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data in transit and at rest.

10. Changes

We may update this privacy policy. The version published on the website at any given time applies.
